Matt Sivertsen was born in Moline, IL on September 26th, 1979. He is the oldest of three boys. He graduated from Moline High School in 1997 then the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in 2001, with a degree in saxophone performance, class of 2001. He started playing saxophone at the age of 10. Matt draws musical influences from John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Michael Brecker, Kenny Garrett, and many other great saxophonists.
Matthew currently resides in Moline with his lovely wife Laura, and his Border Collie, Miles (named after jazz great Miles Davis).
