April 2nd
By: Kevin Carton

Silhouettes in the dark of the night
down the street the neighbors are in a fight
and nothing anymore ever seems right
april packed her bags, called her boss, took the flight

april, what will you do when you get out there
when you get out there
how will you spend the rainy nights
april, where will you go when you get out there
when you get out there
i pray you’ll be alright
pray you’ll be alright
in london

i know this wasn’t you’re favorite place
but i can’t imagine life without your face
if you get there and realize you’ve made a mistake
my door’s unlocked and my porch lights on just in case

april, what will you do when you get out there

when you get out there
how will you spend the rainy nights
april, where will you go when you get out there
when you get out there
i pray you’ll be alright
pray you’ll be alright
in london

i never said goodbye
but maybe that’s a good thing
cause it will seem like you’re still here and haven’t left
but when I close my eyes I see you walking through that door
and I wish you’d just come back
won’t you ever come back to me
to your family
and friends

april, what will you do when you get out there
when you get out there
how will you spend the rainy nights
april, where will you go when you get out there
when you get out there
i pray you’ll be alright
pray you’ll be alright
and you’ll have one safe flight
to london
