You My Friend
By: Kevin Carton

Why don’t you ever smile
Just forget about life for a while
Tomorrow’s a new day
Sing with me your troubles away
Say so long
Be gone
Just stay keeping the beat of the song
Your head up
Your hands down
Don’t keep wanderin looking around
Cause if you are lost you will be found

Grab onto my hand and don’t let go
I’ll walk with you down this dusty road
And when life gets ugly well, you should know
You my friend have a hand to hold

why don’t you ever talk with me
About our dreams under the maple tree
There, we can rest all day
Hide our troubles away
Tuck them deep in the shade
And when we’re done go out in the sun
And like when we were little we will have some fun and play
But sometimes life can get hard
And you need to look inside and find who you are
Then you can decide
If you’ll hide
Or you can try and go on this journey with me

Grab onto my hand and don’t let go
I’ll walk with you down this dusty road
And when life gets ugly well, you should know
You my friend have a hand to hold

And when crystal rain falls from the sky
We’ll go underneath the maple tree and hide
The night will be so cold but I’m sure we’ll survive
I can guarantee you won’t be alone tonight
