The Pain
By: Kevin Carton

Maybe one time me and her were what we were
That was one time that’s in the past
If you knew her like I knew her
Might not be sure what you have goin’ will last

Cause she’ll leave you like she left me
Cold and alone, on her front porch on a rainy day
And she’ll kiss him for the last time
And your heart will sing and all at once you’ll feel the pain

My dad and I were talkin’ as my mom was growing weak
Soon I know she’ll be going home
She’s lying quietly in her deep sleep
Tomorrow we may be alone cause she’ll leave you

And she’ll leave me cold and alone
In our dark house on this rainy day
And she’ll kiss us, for the last timeAnd our hearts will sing and all at once we’ll feel the pain

And she’ll leave you and she’ll leave me cold and alone
In our dark house on this rainy day
And she’ll kiss us, for the last time
And our hearts will sing and all at once we’ll feel the pain
